About this Nominee

Letty has been working hand-in-hand with the La Jolla community since 2005. In 2008, her non-profit LOT318, developed the Homework Club where elementary students has a safe space to work on their homework after school--avoiding gang influence.

Fast forward 10 years, LOT318 has added four more programs such as their Thanksgiving Day Feast on Cypress Street serving 1500+ meals to low-income families, their annual Memorial Day Street Soccer Tournament and most recently, they have received a grant from Senator Newman to purchase a dwelling to house homeless families.

LOT318 has over 5 programs and over 45 active students who, with their families, are striving for a brighter future! The children are no longer asking themselves “What gang am I going to join?” but instead are asking “What college am I going to attend? What career can I go into?”
