About this Nominee
Nel was born & raised in Placentia where she resides with her husband and family. She is a former 20-year Property and Casualty insurance agent and District Sales Manager with a record of demonstrated success driving multi-million-dollar sales growth while providing award-winning sales leadership in highly competitive markets.
In 2004 she started her real estate career, and she has worked in every aspect of the industry representing sellers, buyers, investors, and businesses and in corporate leadership roles. She has over 36 years of progressive sales management, marketing, and leadership experience, hundreds of hours of lecturing and teaching, contract negotiation, and strategic marketing creation.
Nel is a woman with a devotion to God and her family. She uses her experience and foresight to address details proactively before they become a problem.
Nel was born and raised in Placentia where she still resides with her husband and family. In high school, she was hired by a local bookkeeping firm in Old Town Placentia by the name of Data Bookkeeping Systems or DBS where she learned to handle the books and payroll for some Placentia greats such as Tlaquepaque Restaurant, El Farolito, Castner's Automotive, Q-Tortas, Placentia Glass & Screen, just to name a few. Mike and Alvina Serna, the owners of DBS also taught her to complete income tax returns and at the age of 18 would on her own time give complimentary tax preparation services to those in need in Placentia. Mr. Serna was a member of the Rotary Club of Placentia (at the time a men-only club) and he would bring back to the office notes from the meetings, then had Nelida compile a monthly newsletter for the club. In 1980 Nelida would be the very first Miss Placentia candidate to be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Placentia.
Fast forward to today, Nelida is both a retiree of AAA Auto Club as a District Sales Manager and the Walt Disney Company as a Sr. Sales Executive and has served our community as a top-producing Real Estate agent since 2004. Nelida runs her real estate business as the Nelida Mora Team of Major League Properties in addition to serving as the Director of Sales for Matt Luke and all the agents at the firm. Nelida is not only a member but also on the Board of Directors and Vice-President for the Placentia Rotary Club, a club responsible for such fundraising events as Cowabunga BBQ & Brews, Back to School Backpacks for Lot318, The Mayor's Annual Community Prayer Breakfast, the Pancake Breakfast before the Heritage Days Parade & Festival, and raising funds to provide scholarships to the graduating seniors at the Placentia-Yorba Linda School District High Schools.
Nelida's future goals include serving the local community by using her housing resources and expertise to further initiatives advocating for homeownership.
